Amazon to Adapt Agatha Christie Novels as TV Series

Amazon is about to adapt a batch of Agatha Cristie’s novels into a series exclusively to stream in the U.S.

Ordeal by Innocence is the first adaptation under the deal. It is based on the novel Christie wrote in 1958, a mystery about a man recovering from amnesia, only to find out he could be the only one able to provide an alibi in a scandalous murder trial.

Amazon Studios head of international series, Morgan Wandell, said that they are “thrilled to bring to our slate these adaptations from the world’s greatest mystery writer. With terrific talent, in front of and behind the camera, they are sure to delight our customers.”

The drama will feature Bill Nighy (Love Actually), Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness), Ella Purnell (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children), Matthew Goode (The Good Wife), Catherine Keener (Get Out) and Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl).
