Box Office: “Dunkirk” Conquers Weekend With $50.5 Million

Dunkrik domestic opening is above all expectations. Christopher Nolan’s film is flying past the projections to a $50.5 million opening weekend. Out of a total of 3,720 locations, 23% of the market share came from 402 Imax screens.

Warner Bros. distribution chief Jeff Goldstain expressed his satisfaction: “We’re absolutely thrilled with this incredible result on this brilliant film. In a summer that has had a lot of disappointments, this movie way over-achieved.”

Except for a few well-known names, such as Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh, and Mark Rylance, the movie mostly features newcomers including Fionn Whitehead, Tom-Glynn-Carney, Jack Lowden, and former One Direction’s Harry Styles.
