Composer Daniel Licht, Famous for “Dexter,” Dies at 60

Daniel Licht, who composed music for TV show Dexter, passed away on Wednesday aged 60 after a battle with cancer.

Licht worked on Dexter for all eight seasons, from 2006 to 2013. He has worked on numerous other projects including many films and series, but the quirky sound design for the serial-killer drama will remain his signature project.

Clyde Phillips, Dexter executive producer, said about Licht: “Dan was an incredibly talented musician and composer, but most of all, he was a dear friend. His passing leaves all of us a bit quieter, a bit sadder, and without the gift of his music and his love.”
