David Rockefeller, Billionaire Philanthropist, Dies Aged 101

One of the world’s richest people ever, David Rockefeller, has died aged 101, as reported by New York Times.

Rockefeller was an American banker and one of the richest people in the world. According to Forbes magazine, his net worth was around $2 billion.

He was born in New York as the youngest of six John Rockefellr Jr.’s sons. His grandfather, John D. Rockefeller, was the founder of the oil company Standard Oil, which was forced to split into 34 companies in 1911 because it was holding a monopoly, as the U.S. government has decided.
