Disney has shared that they’ve been under a hackers’ attack and are now threaten to pay if they don’t want the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie to be released ahead of time.
BOB Iger, Disney CEO, told ABC that the hackers wanted to meet on Monday. He didn’t officially confirm which movie it was, but as Deadline reports, it’s the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Disney is refusing to pay the ransom. They are working on the case with federal investigators.
Allegedly, the hackers have demanded the ransom to be paid in bitcoin, otherwise, they would release the movie in 20-minute chunks.
