Unreleased Whitney Houston Recordings to Debut in Honor of “The Bodyguard” 25th Anniversary

This year brings with it the 25th anniversary of Whitney Houston’s breakout role on The Body Guard. Houston’s iconic film will be celebrated with new recording, paying tribute to the original soundtrack.

The Bodyguard Original Soundtrack became the best-selling soundtrack of all time. Legacy Recordings, in cooperation with the Estate of Whitney E. Houston will release a tribute album titled Whitney Houston – I Wish You Love: More From The Bodyguard.

The album will feature collection of unreleased live and studio recordings from Houston’s The Bodyguard Tour from 1993 to 1995. Some tracks will be alternate versions and remixes of audio recordings from the film, including a remix of the song “I’m every woman.”

In addition to the album release, on October 31, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will honor the classic film with a re-release of special features for select digital retailers.

Another tribute is planned for November 4, with an invite-only listening party and movie screening, as well as special activities. This will take place at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach Resort, which served as a backdrop for most of the 1992 hit, where Houston performed “I Have Nothing” and “I Will Always Love You.”

Fans can RSVP for the listening party and movie screening through Houston’s website.
