“13 Reasons Why” Season 2 Premiere Date Announced in New Trailer

Netflix has announced the premiere date for season 2 of its teen-suicide drama. The premiere date for the second season has been set for May 18.

The streaming giant also dropped a new trailer that has left fans with more questions than answers as to what to expect from the series’ next season. Netflix took to social media to share the new trailer, captioning it with “The tapes were just the beginning.”

Season 1 was based on the teen novel of the same name by Jay Asher and revolved around 13 cassette tapes Hannah (Katherine Langford) left her crush, Clay (Dylan Minette) explaining what led to her to commit suicide. Season 2 will chronicle the way Hannah’s death affected those around her, including her friends and family. According to Netflix, “A series of ominous Polaroids lead Clay and his classmates to uncover a sickening secret and a conspiracy to cover it up.”

The show also stars Christian Navarro, Alisha Boe, Brandon Flynn, Justin Prentice, Miles Heizer, Brian d’Arcy James, and Kate Walsh. It is produced for Netflix by Paramount Television; serving as executive producers are Selena Gomez, along with Mandy Teefey, Kristel Laiblin, Joy Gorman Wettels, Michael Sugar and Steve Golin.
