Best known for his debut major role as Clay Jensen on Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why, Dylan Minette is getting ready for another big year with a much anticipated second season as well as an upcoming new movie.
Minette spoke with ET about his upcoming film The Open House, saying he’s very excited for fans to see a very different side of him.
The film, streaming now on Netflix, is Minette’s first lead in a film and he is indeed onscreen for the majority of the flick portraying Logan Wallace. Filled with unexpected moments, the horror film was written and directed by Matt Angel and Suzanne Coot. Minette is definitely proud of this project, saying working on a fil, with a small cast and a smaller budget was “definitely interesting.”
“When the opportunity opened up for me to be a part of it, I jumped on the role because I was just so excited. I’m really proud of us all, and that’s what I liked about the movie… It could have fallen apart at any moment, and I think what we pulled off for that… I’m just so excited that it happened.”
Minette teased about the second season of 13 Reasons Why saying that while it will feature a time jump, fans won’t be left in the dark. Apparently within the first 3 episodes, fans will get a good sense of what’s going on with Clay and his schoolmates after Hannah’s (Katherine Langford) death.
“You’ll learn pretty quickly what happened between the two seasons,” he said. “Clay definitely has to move on from that, but I don’t know how long it can last,” he added. “Hannah will always be a part of Clay, no matter what. You’ll definitely see more of that in season two, because Clay won’t be able to shake the memory of her, I don’t think, for a long time. I really do love a lot of the things they’ve done with season two, and I hope that it resonates well.”
The streaming giant has yet to announce the release date.
