Adele and Ed Sheeran took the world by storm with their new music in the last few months, and the Brit Awards voters were taking notice. The list of nominations for this award show is here, and these two artists are leading the way with four nominations each.
Adele and Sheeran will go head-to-head in each category they’re nominated in, including album and artists of the year. They’re joined by Dave and Little Simz, who also have four nominations each, and Sam Fender in both of these categories.
When it comes to the song of the year contenders, the field includes a total of 15 songs. Adele is in the running with “Easy on Me”, while Sheeran made the cut with “Bad Habits”. The list of nominees also includes “Cold Heart” by Elton John and Dua Lipa, “Clash” by Dave and Stormzy, and “Heat Waves” by Glass Animals.
There’s one thing that makes the upcoming Brit Awards ceremony different from the ones that came before it—the introduction of gender-neutral categories. The awards for British male solo artist and British female solo artist have been eliminated and replaced by the artist of the year.
2022 Brit Awards are set to take place on February 8th, 2022 at London’s O2 Arena with Mo Gilligan hosting the show.
