The SAG Awards returned to Los Angeles this weekend, setting the stage for the final days of the awards season. Conclave was honored with the coveted prize for the best cast in the film categories, while Shōgun and Only Murders in the Building won big in the television field.
Conclave stars Ralph Fiennes, John Lithgow, Lucian Msamati, Isabella Rossellini, Sergio Castellitto, and Stanley Tucci collected the award for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture. They defeated the ensemble of Anora, A Complete Unknown, Emilia Pérez, and Wicked to take the trophy home.
Shōgun was the biggest winner of the night on the television side, with a total of four trophies. In addition to winning the award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series, its stars Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai were honored for their individual performances.
It was also a night to remember for the cast of Hulu’s hit comedy Only Murders in the Building. This series was honored with the award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series, while its star Martin Short won a trophy for outstanding performance by a male actor in a comedy series.
The 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on February 23, with Kristen Bell serving as a host.
