“A Black Lady Sketch Show” Renewed for Season 2

HBO has renewed A Black Lady Sketch Show for a second season. 

Created by Robin Thede, the series features sketches performed by a core cast of black women including Thede, Ashley Nicole Black, Gabrielle Dennis, and Quinta Brunson. The first season also featured a stellar lineup of guest appearances including Angela Bassett, Laverne Cox, Lena Waithe, and Larry Wilmore.

The news was announced by Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO programming.

“It’s been thrilling to see the audience embrace the characters that Robin, Ashley, Gabrielle, and Quinta have brought to life,” she said. “We had a blast making this groundbreaking sketch show with Robin, Dime and all of the writers and producers, and I can’t wait to see what next season holds.”
