A “Muppets” Series is Coming to Disney+

An unscripted Muppets series is heading to the streaming service.

A Muppets short-form series is set to premiere exclusively on the forthcoming Disney streamer in 2020.

The news was announced via a teaser featuring Kermit and Joe the Legal Weasel arguing about just how much to reveal about the upcoming show.

“You are not authorized to offer a peek, sneak or otherwise,” said the weasel in the clip. “I know how you frogs are, you’re always looking to leap into the next big thing.”

“I’d love to tell you more, but Joe The Legal Weasel is right behind me. Gulp,” wrote Kermit on his Twitter.

From the official Disney announcement: “Forty years after leaving the swamp in his big-screen debut in The Muppet Movie, Kermit the Frog is heading upstream with Miss Piggy, and the gang, bringing a new kind of mayhem and laughter to Disney+ with their first-ever unscripted short-form series, Muppets Now.”

The launch date and an episode count have yet to be announced.
