Station 19 did a pretty great job expanding the Grey’s Anatomy franchise and its final season is just around the corner. ABC renewed this hit series for its seventh season earlier this year, only to announce this will also mark its final chapter.
Station 19 was developed as a spin-off of ABC’s biggest hit, the medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, and it became quite a success following its premiere in 2018. Over the course of the past six seasons, this hit series chronicled the personal and professional lives of firefighters working at the Seattle Fire Department.
Disney Television Group’s president Craig Erwich described this show as a highlight of the ABC lineup. He praised Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers’ incredible vision, beloved characters, and compelling storytelling, and promised that the best is yet to come.
“With Zoanne and Peter at the helm of the upcoming farewell season, we have so much to look forward to, most notably the celebration of the show’s milestone 100th episode,” said Erwich in a statement.
Station 19 will for its ten-episode final season on March 14, 2024. Jaina Lee Ortiz, Jason George, Grey Damon, Barrett Doss, Jay Hayden, Danielle Savre, Boris Kodjoe, Stefania Spampinato, and Josh Randall are expected to reprise their roles when the show comes back this spring.
