ABC Renews “Modern Family” For 11th and Final Season

Members of the Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker gang have been making us laugh for a whole decade, but their journey is coming to an end. ABC just announced their smash hit Modern Family will be going off the air after Season 11.

Modern Family was one of the most beloved sitcoms of its time, and it served as a star vehicle for several of its cast members, including Sofia Vergara and Ty Burrell. It won numerous awards since it hit the air in 2009, including five consecutive Emmys for best comedy series.

TV experts believed this sitcom will end its run after Season 10, but plans changed after adult stars managed to secure huge paychecks from the network. Karey Burke, president of ABC Entertainment, said they’re excited to bring our favorite TV family for another season – and she believes fans will be, as well.

“Chris and Steve have created one of the most seminal and iconic comedies in television history. In its final season, there will be more milestone events that anyone who has been a fan of the series won’t want to miss,” concluded Burke.
