Adam Lambert wants in on the “American Idol” reboot

After 15 seasons and 13 months off the air, American Idol was picked up by ABC for a reboot.

In an interview with ET last Saturday, the show’s alum Adam Lambert opened up about how he would love to somehow be a part of the show’s reboot. The 8th season’s runner-up added that even though the production has not reached out to him, he thinks the show is great, and after such a positive experience on Austrlia’s X Factor he would love to work with hopeful young singers.

42 year-old Ryan Seacrest announced he will return as the singing competition show’s host on Live With Kelly and Ryan. The production company told ET that a revival of Idol would have been unthinkable without Seacrest, adding that, [t]he fans want the show back and they want it with Ryan.”

During the show’s annual Upfronts presentation in New York City back in May, it was also confirmed that Katy Perry has officially signed on as one of Idol’s judges. In a press release sent out after the announcement Perry said that, “[she is] honored and thrilled to be the first judge bringing back the American Idol tradition of making dreams come true for incredible talents with authentic personalities and real stories.”
