Adam Shankman will direct Hocus Pocus 2.

Variety was first to report Shankman will helm the sequel to the 1993 cult classic set at Disney’s streaming service, Disney+. He will direct from a screenplay penned by Workaholics writer and co-producer Jen D’Angelo

The original film starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as three witch sisters, who 300 years after they were cursed, were inadvertently resurrected only to discover to their horror that Halloween has become a holiday. According to the outlet, the three are not attached to the sequel, but Disney is hopeful that they will become involved in some capacity.

Shankman is best known for directing Hairspray as well as Step Up and a Walk to Remember. He is currently in pre-production on Disney’s Enchanted sequel, Disenchanted.
