If you are in the mood for more jokes from the Rick and Morty universe, don’t worry. Adult Swim got you covered.

Besides setting up the release of season five of the popular animated sci-fi sitcom next month, the network also started working on a Rick and Morty spinoff. Titled The Vindicators, the project focuses on the eponymous superhero team that made its appearance in episode “Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender” in season three.

According to Adult Swim’s press release, the spinoff follows characters Supernova, Alan Rails, Crocubot, Vance Maxiumus, and Noob Noob as they “fight crime, avert genocides, and yuk it up without Rick and Morty.”

Producers Sarah Carbiener and Erica Rosbe added that The Vindicators will dive deeper into the dysfunction of this unusual superhero team while exploring what happens when they “save (or destroy) worlds.”

The spinoff is expected to have a short format and eight to 10 episodes are currently being planned. The release date still remains unknown, with Adult Swim committing to premiere “either this year or next.”

Besides The Vindicators, the network is also working on spinoffs of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken and Pretty Face Is Going to Hell. They will also be based on the characters from the original shows or inspired by them while following the same short form structure.
