“Alone Together” Canceled By Freeform

Freedom has canceled Alone Together after two seasons.

The half-hour, single-camera comedy will not go on for a third season.

Alone Together starred Esther Povitsky and Benji Aflalo. The duo portrayed platonic best friends who want nothing more than to be accepted by the vain and status-obsessed culture. Despite their oft-dysfunctional relationship, when push comes to shove, they’ve got each other’s back, especially due to the fact that they have nobody else to hang out with.

The 10-episode sophomore season was available to stream on Hulu along with running back-to-back new episodes over five Wednesdays on Freeform. According to Variety, the series averaged a 0.05 rating in adults 18-49 in its second season and 127,000 viewers per episode, down a massive 50% in both measures from the first season.

Alone Together was co-created by Povitsky and Aflalo alongside Eben Russell. The three also served as writers and executive producers.
