Taylor Swift returned to the awards show circuit with her opening performance at American Music Awards and it turned out to be the perfect place to make a comeback. By the time the ceremony was over, the young singer was holding four shiny statues, including the one for best artist of the year. In addition to the best artists trophy, she also won awards for favorite female artist and favorite album in pop/rock categories. Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour also didn’t go unnoticed and it scooped tour of the year award.
Camila Cabello gave the ten-time Grammy winner a run for her money, and also walked away with four statues. The former Fifth Harmony singer won the title of the best new artist of the year and collected additional three awards for her hit single Havana – favorite music video, collaboration of the year and favorite song – pop/rock.
Cardi B, who led the list of nominations at this year’s American Music Awards eventually walked away with three trophies. Kane Brown also collected three awards, thanks to his domination in the country categories.
AMA ceremony was broadcasts live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on October 9 and hosted by Tracy Ellis Ross.
