This exciting project will be based on J. D. Vance’s memoir Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis, published in 2016. His look at struggles of America’s working class was a huge hit and it even topped the New York Times’ bestsellers list.

Deadline describes Hillbilly Elegy as amodern exploration of the American Dream and three generations of an Appalachian family as told by its youngest member, a Yale Law student forced to return to his hometown.”

The Shape Of Water co-writer Vanessa Taylor was in charge of penning the script.

This Netflix film isn’t the only exciting project that Amy Adams has in store. She recently wrapped up production on highly-anticipated thriller The Woman in the Window, and is attached to a rumored Enchanted sequel.
