Amy Winehouse “Back to Black” Documentary Gets Trailer, Release Date

We are getting a new documentary focusing on the life and music of late British singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse. Titled Amy Winehouse – Back to Black, it will be centered around the recording of the singer’s critically acclaimed last studio album of the same name. The documentary is scheduled for digital release on November 2, while it will also be available on DVD and Blu-Ray.

According to the press release, Amy Winehouse – Back to Black will feature “previously unseen footage of Amy” and exclusive interviews with Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, who worked on the record with Winehouse.

The documentary will also present never seen before footage from “An Evening in London,” a show which Winehouse performed for a small group of family, friends and music executives at the London’s Riverside Studios on February 10, 2008. On that same night, Winehouse won five Grammy awards.

This project comes three years after the release of Asif Kapadia’s documentary Amy, which met with universal acclaim from the critics and became a box office hit. It ended up winning numerous awards as well, including the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 88th Academy Awards and Best Music Film at the 58th Grammy Awards.
