An “Unsolved Mysteries” Reboot is Coming to Netflix

Netflix is rebooting Unsolved Mysteries.

Unsolved Mysteries is making its way to the small screen, again. Netflix is bringing back the true-crime docuseries that originally aired on NBC in the 1980s.

The project has tapped original creators Terry Dunn Meurer and John Cosgrove to serve as show runner and producer respectively. Also on board are the producers of Stranger Things, Shawn Levy and Josh Barry, who will produce via their 21 Laps banner.

The streaming giant has said that the reboot will be a modern take on the classic, promising to “maintain the chilling feeling viewers loved about the original, while also telling the stories through the lens of a premium Netflix documentary series.”

Like the original, each episode of the reboot will focus on a single mystery and will enlist viewers’ help in solving each case.

Looks like Netflix is pushing for interactive programming after all…
