Angelina Jolie is in negotiations to make her Marvel debut.
The 43-year-old actress could be making her first jaunt into the superhero realm. Jolie is in talks to star in Marvel Studios’ The Eternals, a superhero team adventure feature helmed by Chloe Zhao.
While, not surprisingly, details of the plot and Jolie’s character are being kept under wraps, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the film centers on a group of superpowered and near-immortal beings known as Eternals; the plot also includes a love story between Ikaris, a man fueled by cosmic energy, and Sersi, who relishes moving amongst humans.
Zhao’s directing credits include The Rider and Songs My Brothers Taught Me. She will direct The Eternals from a script penned by Matthew and Ryan Firpo.
Jolie is currently working on Disney’s upcoming Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, a sequel to the 2014 Maleficent, which grosses $758 million worldwide.
