Angelina Jolie returns to the front of the camera with a “Maleficent” sequel

Even though recently Angelina Jolie spent more time behind the camera directing, the actress will be back in front of the camera playing the role of the main villain in a second Maleficent movie.

During a reception at the Telluride Film Festival, where First They Killed My Father, a movie directed by Jolie was presented, she spoke of her return to the front of the camera, “I am now the breadwinner for the family, so it’s time.”

Jolie told The Hollywood Reporter that she has to take a year off so she could concentrate on her family saying that she was needed at home and that she hopes to work again soon. She added that “when I feel it’s time for me to go back to work, I’ll be able to go back to work.”

However, Jolie tells of this return to acting that it’s simply the result of not having “anything to direct that I feel passionate about.” The actress opened up about the difficulties of focusing on directing rather than acting, saying that “at some point I’ll probably just direct, but you just don’t know if you can have a career as a director. You don’t know how things are going to be received.”
