Fans of the Princess Diaries series spent 15 years waiting for Mia Thermopolis to continue her royal adventure on the big screen. It seems that’s finally going to happen – at least according to Anne Hathaway, who got her big break thanks to this role.
The Oscar-winning actress is currently busy promoting her new movie Serenity. While appearing on Andy Cohen’s he asked the question that was in the back of everyone’s mind for a long time – is she ever going to step back into Princess Mia’s shoes?
Her answer filled our hearts with joy and it seems everyone who was on board for the first two films wants to come back. Julie Andrews and producer Debra Martin Chase are both super-interested, and the first draft of the script already exists.
“It’s just we don’t want to unless it’s perfect because we love it just as much as you guys love it. It’s as important to us as it is to you, and we don’t want to deliver anything until it’s ready, but we’re working on it,” Hathaway
explained.
