Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is one of the most exciting new films coming our way this spring, and expectations are running high. Anya Taylor-Joy stars in the new trailer for this post-apocalyptic blockbuster, which sees the young Furiosa embarking on an epic journey to find her way back home.
Furiosa takes place years before the events of Mad Max: Fury Road and it sees young Furiosa falling into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus after being snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers.
“Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home,” reads the film’s official synopsis.
Anya Taylor-Joy replaced Charlize Theron as the younger version of Furiosa, and she’ll be joined by Chris Hemsworth as Warlord Dementus. Tom Burke, Alyla Browne, Nathan Jones, Angus Sampson, Quaden Bayles, Daniel Webber, and Lachy Hulme also star in supporting roles.
Furiosa is the fifth installment in the Mad Max franchise, and it sees George Miller returning as director and co-writer alongside Nico Lathouris. It will be released on May 24 via Warner Bros. Pictures.
