Bad Sisters created a lot of buzz since premiering on Apple TV+ earlier this fall, and there’s more where that came from! The streaming giant renewed the Irish black comedy with elements of a murder mystery for its second season.

Bad Sisters follows five sisters, bound together by the death of their parents, who find themselves at the center of a life insurance investigation after one of their husbands dies under mysterious circumstances.

The star-studded cast of this Irish series includes Anne-Marie Duff, Eva Birthistle, Sarah Greene, Eve Hewson, and Sharon Horgan, who created the show alongside Dave Finkel and Brett Baer.

“The response to our show had been beyond what we could have hoped for. It gave us the opportunity to shine a light on stories that don’t always get such a global platform. I look forward to getting chilly in the Irish Sea one more time,” said Horgan in a statement announcing the show’s renewal.

Bad Sisters draws inspiration from the Flemish series Clan, which was created by Malin-Sarah Gozin. The first season premiered on Apple TV+ on August 19 to rave reviews and featured a total of 10 episodes. The show’s renewal comes after the streamer announced they’re bringing back some of its signature scripted series, including Ted Lasso, Severance, Pachinko, and Slow Horses.
