Slow Horses created quite a splash after premiering on Apple TV+ in 2022, and the streamer is moving with this series at a rapid speed. Just 18 months after its premiere, the Gary Oldman-led spy drama has already been renewed for its fifth season.

Based on Mick Herron’s Slough House series of novels, Slow Horses centers on a group of dysfunctional MI5 agents, led by the notorious Jackson Lamb (Oldman), as they try to navigate England’s espionage world and defend their country from sinister forces.

In addition to Oldman in the lead role, the ensemble cast of Slow Horses also includes the likes of Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Samuel West, Sophie Okonedo, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan, and Jonathan Pryce. Hugo Weaving, Joanna Scanlan, and Ruth Bradley are expected to join them in the upcoming Season 4, set to premiere on Apple TV+ in late 2024.

Slow Horses is somewhat of an anomaly in the modern TV landscape, considering how quickly each season came together. It’s only been a year and a half since this series debuted in April 2022, but Apple TV+ is already plotting its fifth season, only a few days after the final episode of Season 3 premiered on their streaming service.
