The remake of the 1990 horror film is in early stages of production.
The remake is helmed by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and James Wan’s Atomic Monster.
The film was about a species of Venezuelan killer spider that crosses the US border in a coffin to become a massive killer. The film was Frank Marshall’s directorial debut and starred Jeff Daniels, John Goodman, Harley Jane Kozak, and Julian Sands. The original actually made use of real-life spiders from New Zealand, picked for their large size and harmless nature.
While not much more is known about the project, it is known that Wan (Aquaman) won’t be directing the remake, but guide it as producer.
Still, in this early stage, no actors, or writers are attached to the project, but it is expected to be set shortly.
