Ariana Grande Becomes Manchester’s First Honorary Citizen

Ariana Grande has become Manchester’s first honorary citizen ever. Grande helped to raise almost £3 million after the suicide bombing, which struck at the end of her Dangerous Woman concert when she returned to Manchester to perform at the One Love Manchester concert 13 days later.

The proposal for Grande to be the first one to receive the honor was unanimously accepted by the councilors. It’s defined as the award for people who have made an outstanding contribution to the city despite not living in it.

The singer was grateful to receive this honor. As she wrote on Instagram: “I don’t know what to say. Words don’t suffice. I’m moved and honoured. My heart is very much still there. I love you.”
