Ariana Grande created quite a commotion with Eternal Sunshine, and this album is doing pretty great on the Billboard charts this week. In addition to topping the Billboard 200 chart, Grande also managed to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her latest single “We Can’t Be Friends”.

Eternal Sunshine was released on March 8, and it debuted at No. 1 with 227,000 equivalent album units earned upon its debut, including 77,000 in album sales. This is the largest week for an album released in 2024, and it helped Grande score her sixth chart-topping album.

Grande promoted the release of her latest LP with a new single “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)”, which immediately topped the Hot 100 chart. It earned 32.6 million streams, 4.6 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 9,000 in sales during its first week on the chart.

“We Can’t Be Friends” is Grande’s seventh single to debut atop the Hot 100 chart, and this number is quite historic. She surpasses Taylor Swift as a woman with the most No. 1 debuts on this chart.

This is the second single from Eternal Sunshine to debut at No. 1, following the success of “Yes, And?”, helping Grande become the first female artist to ever debut multiple songs from two different albums atop the Hot 100 chart.
