Ariana Grande took the world by storm when she surprisingly dropped her latest album Thank U, Next. Copies of her new record immediately started flying off the shelves, and she managed to effortlessly climb on top of the Billboard 200 chart.

Grande’s triumphant return to the top spot comes less than six months after her previous album, Sweetener, debuted at no. 1. Thank U, Next opened with 360,000 total copies sold in a week, which are currently the best sales of Grande’s career.

It had the largest streaming week for a pop album and of any album made by a female artist, with a total of 307 million streams in its opening week! It also earned the biggest week for a pop album in over a year, but it failed to surpass the success of Taylor Swift’s Reputation.

In addition to debuting at no. 1 in the US, Thank U, Next proved to be a global success and topped the charts in the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
