The Shadowhunters star is joining the cast of Arrow.
Entertainment Weekly confirms that Katherine McNamara has landed a recurring role on the CW’s Arrow. The actress will join the show’s seventh season as Maya, a scrappy street fighter and thief from Star City.
McNamara couldn’t have been happier to share to the news with her fans, taking to Twitter Saturday writing, “THRILLED to finally be able to share this news. “So excited to be joining @CW_Arrow.”
Season 7 of Arrow will see Oliver Queen in jail, living alongside a host of the criminals he’s put away. Showrunner Beth Schwartz teased that: “We sort of wanted to write to the real of what that situation would look like if he was locked up with a bunch of previous villains that he’d previously put in there, and they’re now on the same playing field. There’s so much conflict there. He can’t do things the way he did them as the Green Arrow. The rules are different in prison.”
Arrow returns Monday, October 15.
