John Boyega and filmmaker Joe Cornish will be reuniting for the sequel of 2011’s Attack the Block.

Boyega will be reprising his breakout role as Moses. The sequel is in the early stages of development and plot details are being kept under wraps.

Attack the Block marked Cornish’s directorial debut. Since then he’s co-written Ant-Man and helmed The Kid Who Would Be King.

The original follows Boyega’s Moses as he leads a teenage street gang that defends themselves against aliens. The film didn’t do well at the box office, but it gained a cult following.

ā€œItā€™s been a decade since ā€˜Attack The Blockā€™ was released and so much has changed since then. Iā€™m excited to see this heightened story return to the streets of London. Moses has remained one of my favorite characters to play and bringing him back is a huge honor,ā€ Boyega said in a statement to Variety.

He also posted the news on Instagram, captioning the post, “Yes Attack the Block 2 is happening! Yes Iā€™ll be starring and producing! Yes Iā€™m bloody excited ! London VS them tings.”
