Austin Powers 4 is “Looking Good” According to Mike Myers

Just when we almost gave up on the hope that we will get to see another Austin Powers movie, Mike Myers decided to give us an optimistic update on Austin Powers 4.

During the promotion of his latest movie Bohemian Rhapsody, Myers confirmed to Access that the fourth installment in Austin Powers film series is in the works saying that “it’s looking good.”

“I’ve had three kids under the age of seven,” Myers told Access. “They take a long time to write, they always have. Jay’s been super crazy. He is doing a fantastic movie right now that he’s working on right now. It’s looking good, so we’ll see.”

The Austin Powers film series launched in 1997 with Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, with the two sequels, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Austin Powers in Goldmember, following soon. The films starred Mike Myers in the titular role and were a parody of spy action movies and characters like James Bond. While receiving lukewarm reviews from the critics, all three films ended up being box office hits, earning $876 million combines.

The development of Austin Powers 4 began in 2005, but there was no major info about the project since then with Myers and director Jay Roach stating several times since then that they remain committed to the idea of making the movie.
