Conclave is one of the main contenders for the coveted best film award, but it will have to beat some tough competition to take the trophy home. The list of nominees in this category also includes Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, and Emilia Pérez. It’s also in the running for the outstanding British film, along with Bird, Blitz, Gladiator 2, and Hard Truths, among others.
Conclave earned its stars Ralph Fiennes and Isabella Rossellini acting nominations in their respective fields. Its director Edward Berger and writer Peter Straughan have also been nominated for their work on this film, which received nods in several creative categories, including casting, editing, and costume design.
The crime musical Emilia Pérez is the runner-up with a total of 11 nominations, while The Brutalist managed to score nine nods. Anora, Dune: Part Two, and Wicked are right behind with seven nominations each.
The 2025 BAFTA Awards will take place on February 16 at the Royal Festival Hall in London, with David Tennant hosting for the second year in a row.

Love Me is set long after humanity’s extinction, and it explores AI and identity through live-action, animatronics, and classic animation in an epic tale of connection and transformation.
“In a story that spans billions of years, a buoy and a satellite meet online long after humanity’s extinction. As they learn what life was like on Earth, they discover themselves and what it means to be alive and in love,” reads Bleecker Street’s official synopsis.
Love Me hails from first-time directors Sam and Andy Zuchero, and it had its world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. It was honored with the Alfred P. Sloan Prize, bestowed on an outstanding feature film focusing on science or technology. Festival’s vice president Doron Weber praised it for exploring “the nature of human identity and our connection to each other in a post-human world mediated through AI.”
Love Me will be released theatrically on January 31 via Bleecker Street.
The first-ever NFL Christmas Gameday halftime performance took place on December 25 in Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston, Texas. Expectations were running high for her performance, and she managed to exceed them while delivering an epic live rendition of the biggest hits from her album Cowboy Carter.
She was joined by several stars featured on this album, including Post Malone for “Levvi’s Jeans” and Shaboozey during “Sweet Honey Buckiin”. She saved the best for last and closed the show with her version of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” and an epic performance of “Texas Hold ‘Em”, which saw her line-dancing with dozens of people, including her daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
Beyoncé’s NFL Christmas Day Halftime Show was a fitting celebration of her album Cowboy Carter, and the all-white western aesthetic she embraced during the show perfectly captured the spirit of this country-themed record. She wrapped up the performance by teasing an announcement coming our way on January 14, 2025, but it remains unclear what this mystery project will be about.

This revival will reunite us with our favorite dysfunctional family almost two decades later, and it will see Malcolm and his daughter dealing with family chaos after his parents Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.
Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, promised that “these new episodes will have all the laughs, pranks, and mayhem fans loved – along with a few surprises that remind us why this show is so timeless.” Just like the original series, the revival hails from writer and executive producer Linwood Boomer, while Ken Kwapis agreed to direct all four episodes.
Malcolm in the Middle grew into one of the most beloved early 2000s sitcoms after premiering on Fox in 2000. It stayed on air for seven seasons, and won seven Emmys during its run, in addition to a Peabody Award and many other honors. In addition to Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kaczmarek, the original series also starred Christopher Masterson, Justin Berfield, and Erik Per Sullivan as Malcolm’s brothers.

The new trailer for this live-action reimagining of Disney’s animated classic sees Zegler’s Snow White finding a formidable enemy in Gal Gadot’s Evil Queen. After she orders her murder, Snow White runs away into the woods and starts anew after a group of seven dwarves agrees to take her in.
In addition to Zegler and Gadot, the cast of this film will also include Andrew Burnap as Jonathan, Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman, Dujonna Gift as Maple, Martin Klebba as Grumpy, and Colin Michael Carmichael as Farno. The new trailer introduces us to dwarfs, who were brought to life with the power of CGI and designed to resemble the characters from the original animated movie.
The live-action version of Snow White has been in the making for almost a decade, and it finally started taking shape when Marc Webb came on board as a director in 2019. After several major delays and re-shoots, Snow White will finally be released by Disney on March 21, 2025.
After headlining Coachella in 2017 and filming scenes from A Star Is Born on its grounds, Lady Gaga is ready to return to the desert. She’ll be joined by Post Malone, who previously performed at the festival in 2018 and made several guest appearances, and punk-rock legends Green Day, who are making their Coachella debut next year.
Travis Scott has also been announced as the headliner of the floating spot, previously occupied by No Doubt. According to the inspiration on Coachella’s poster, he’ll “design the desert” during his slot, and his representatives revealed he’s planning to debut his next era at the festival.
Coachella will return to the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California on April 11-13 and April 18-20, 2025. The list of major performers hitting the stage next year also includes Missy Elliot, Megan Thee Stallion, Charli XCX, Anitta, Benson Boone, FKA Twigs, Clairo, Zedd, Jennie, Glorilla, Lisa, Tyla, Misfits, The Prodigy, and Shaboozey.

Swift walked away with three individual awards at this ceremony, including the best artist of the year, best live performance, and best US act. She also picked up the award for the best video for “Fortnight” ft. Post Malone, beating the likes of Ariana Grande, Eminem, and Charli XCX.
Despite her domination at this ceremony, Swift wasn’t one of the nominees for the coveted best song award. Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)”, Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things”, Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em”, Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather”, and Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!” made the cut, and the award eventually went to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso”.
Lisa and Rosalía pulled a major upset in the best collaboration category with their duet “New Woman”. The list of smash hits they managed to beat included “Fortnight” by Swift and Post Malone, “Die with a Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, and “Guess” by Charli XCX and Billie Eilish.
The 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards were held at the Co-op Live in Manchester, United Kingdom on November 10, with Rita Ora serving as a host.

]]>Nobody Wants This stars Bell and Body as a temperamental podcaster and a rookie rabbi, as they try to form a lasting relationship despite their different outlooks on life. In addition to the leading duo, the cast of this hit series also includes Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Jackie Tohn, Sherry Cola, and Shiloh Berman.
This series is loosely based on the life of its creator Erin Foster, who described it as her career highlight. She served as its co-showrunner in Season 1 alongside Craig DiGregorio, but they’ll step down in Season 2, letting Girls alums Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan take their spot.
“I’m so lucky to be able to continue this story, and to do it alongside Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, who I’ve been such a fan of since Girls… Justice for healthy relationships being the most romantic!” Foster said in a statement.
Nobody Wants This premiered on Netflix on September 26, and it managed to top the streamer’s list of the top 10 most-watched English-language TV shows.

Wicked is one of the contenders for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture, but it will have to beat some tough competition to take the trophy home. The list of nominees also includes the indie dramedy Anora, the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, the Papal mystery Conclave, and the musical crime comedy Emilia Pérez.
Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, and Jonathan Bailey all received acting nods in their respective categories. Wicked is also in the running for outstanding performance by a stunt ensemble in a motion picture, which brings its total number of nominations to five.
After dominating the Golden Globes earlier this week, Shōgun will also be a top contender at the SAG Awards. It received a nod for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series, while its stars Tadanobu Asano, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Anna Sawai scored acting nods for their respective performances.
The 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards will take place on February 23, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, with Kristen Bell hosting the ceremony.

After winning a historic Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, Anora is slowly establishing itself as a major awards season contender. It’s one of the films nominated for best feature at the Gotham Film Awards, along with Babygirl, Challengers, A Different Man, and Nickel Boys.
The film’s leading lady Mikey Madison scored a nomination for the outstanding lead performance, but she’ll have to beat tough competition to take it home. The list of contenders in this category also includes Pamela Anderson for The Last Showgirl, Adrien Brody for The Brutalist, Nicole Kidman for Babygirl, and Demi Moore for The Substance.
Anora is in the running for two more awards – best director (Sean Baker) and outstanding supporting performance (Yura Borisov). The list of major contenders also includes I Saw the TV Glow and Nickel Boys with three nods each.
The 2024 Gotham Film Awards will take place on December 2 at the Cipriani Wall Street in New York.
