“Avengers: Endgame” Becomes the Highest Grossing Film of All Time

Avengers: Endgame broke several major box office records since it came out back in April, and it was just a matter of time before it became the highest-grossing movie in history. That moment is finally here, and Marvel’s smash hit managed to surpass Avatar on the box office.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige broke the news during Comic-Con in San Diego. He told the fans that the latest Avengers movie managed to earn $2.79 billion after almost three months in theaters around the world.

Alan Horn, co-chairman and chief creative officer of Walt Disney Studios, congratulated Marvel bosses for this monumental achievement but also took a moment to stress the impact of James Cameron’s 2009 film, that held the record for the highest-grossing film for an entire decade.

“Of course, even with the passage of a decade, the impact of James Cameron’s Avatar remains as powerful as ever, and the astonishing achievements of both of these films are ongoing proof of the power of movies to move people and bring them together in a shared experience,” said Horn in a statement.
