“Avengers: Endgame” is Smashing Box Office Records

Avengers: Endgame has smashed box office records, topping previous records set by Marvel and the previous international weekend record, set by The Fate of the Furious ($443 million).

During the opening weekend of “Endgame”, the Marvel feature grossed $350 million in North America alone and a whopping $1.2 billion worldwide. Four of every five tickets sold to movie theatre goers this weekend were for the Avengers movie.

“Kevin Feige and the Marvel Studios team have continued to challenge notions of what is possible at the movie theatre both in terms of storytelling and at the box office,” said Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn.

“Though ‘Endgame’ is far from an end for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, these first 22 films constitute a sprawling achievement, and this weekend’s monumental success is a testament to the world they’ve envisioned, the talent involved, and their collective passion, matched by the irrepressible enthusiasm of fans around the world.”

As it stands, Star Wars: The Force Awakens holds the box office record for overall intake in North America at $936,662,225. At the rate “Endgame” is going, we predict that it will have broken this record along with others by the end of the month.
