Avril Lavigne is making a big comeback this year, and it seems she won’t be doing it all on her own. Her latest single, “Dumb Blonde”, is here and it features the vocals by none other than Nicki Minaj!
Collaborating with Lavigne was a no brainer for Minaj, who always deeply connected to her music. The famous rapper described her latest collaborator as an “unbelievably talented” woman and revealed she used to drive to work listening to her music on repeat during the days when she was still working at Red Lobster.
The Canadian singer had equally kind words for Minaj and said she’s been listening to her music for as long as she can remember. She could’ve easily contacted anyone else to contribute to this song, but the “Anaconda” singer was an obvious choice from the very start.
“As soon as I recorded “Dumb Blonde”, I knew she’d be the perfect artist to collaborate with on it. When she said yes it was like a dream come true!” wrote Lavigne on Twitter.
This song will be featured on Lavigne sixth studio album Head Above Water, which is scheduled to be released on February 15.
