Awkwafina Lands Titular Role in “The Last Adventure of Constance Verity”

It’s Awkwafina’s world and we’re just living in it!

After lining up a series of high-profile projects we can’t wait to see, the young actress just landed the lead role in another one – the big screen adaption of hit young adult novel The Last Adventure of Constance Verity.

If we’re lucky enough, we’ll end up getting an entire Awkwafina franchise, since this movie just happens to be the first in a series of books by A. Lee Martinez.

It tells the story of Constance Verity, who’s been saving the world from one disaster after another since her childhood until she decided to take extreme measures to get an ordinary life she always wanted.

After making a splash in 2018 with notable supporting roles in Crazy Rich Asians and Ocean’s Eight, Awkwafina received rave reviews for a lead turn in Lulu Wang’s dramedy The Farewell.

She has a couple of pretty exacting projects on the way, including potential box office hits Jumanji: The Next Level and The Little Mermaid. She’s also in the process of developing a series based on her life for Comedy Central.
