“Bad Boys for Life” Takes the Top Spot at Box Offices

Bad Boys for Life, the third installment in the franchise, doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

For the third week in a row, the action-comedy series starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence has earned the top spot in the international box office, taking in 30.8 million.

To date, Bad Boys for Life is the highest-grossing installment in the franchise, making over $291 million globally, earning more than the previous record-holder, 2003’s Bad Boys II, which made $271 million and 1995’s Bad Boys, which made $141 million globally.

Bad Boys for Life is about Detective Mike Lowrey (Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Lawrence), along with the Miami PD’s elite AMMO team trying to take down Armando Amras (Jacob Scipio), the head of the drug cartel. Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Charles Melton, Paola Nunez, Kate Del Castillo, and Nicky Jam are also starring in the film.

The second spot at box offices this past weekend is 1917—earning 20.9 million on top of the $249 million it’s already made. Dolittle took the third spot making 17.7 million on top of it’s $126 million to date. Lionsgate’s Knives Out also continues to dominate the box office and it’s close to making $300 million.
