“Bad Boys” star doesn’t think the third installment is going to happen

It’s been a long and rocky road for the 3rd installment in the Martin Lawrence and Will Smith franchise Bad Boys. 14 years after Bad Boys II, over the last few months, Bad Boys For Life has lost its director and release date.

Now, even one the movie’s starts is questioning whether it will ever be made.

“I don’t think we’re going to get one, not the way everything’s turning out,” Lawrence tells EW. “Will is off doing another movie, and I don’t think it’s going to happen.”

This comment by Lawrence comes after the one made by Smith last year, who teased that the third installment of Bad Boys was “very very close,” adding that he’s looking forward to working together with again his lead co-star. However, in the mean time, Smith has been cast to portray the Genie in Disney’s live-action production of Aladdin.

Perhaps there’s still hope for the long-gestating installment to become a reality. Lawrence says he’s there and ready, but that it’s not up to him, it’s the studio’s decision.

Sony has yet to comment.
