Barack Obama shares his favorite books and music for 2017

Barack Obama shares his annual year-end roundup of books and music.

The 44th POTUS developed the habit of posting reading lists and sharing favorite playlists while in office. But who said he should stop there?

Obama took to social media to explain to the people how he’s using his newfound “extra time on [his] hands.” Obama wrote Sunday on Facebook on his ongoing tradition of sharing his favorite’s lists.

“During my presidency, I started a tradition of sharing my reading lists and playlists. It was a nice way to reflect on the works that resonated with me and lift up authors and artists from around the world. With some extra time on my hands this year to catch up, I wanted to share the books and music that I enjoyed most.”

This habit of posting lists during his two terms even earned Obama the title of “President of Playlists,” as Spotify CEO Daniel Ek suggest. Ek tweeted @BarackObama, “I heard that you were interested in a role at Spotify. Have you seen this one? adding a link to a job listing tailor-made for Obama.

As usual Obama’s choice of literary picks include both nonfiction and fiction works and his music picks range from good old classics to quite unexpected choices.
