“Barry” Renewed for Season 3

The premium cabler has said yes to another season of Barry.

Multiple outlets confirm that HBO has extended the dark comedy’s run for a third season. Barry’s sophomore season debuted March 31.

Barry was co-created by Bill Hader and Alec Berg. The two also serve as executive producers. Hader also stars as the titular character.

The half-hour drama follows the titular character (Hader), a hitman who discovers a passion for acting when he comes to Los Angeles on a job. The first season followed Barry as he stumbled into the world of acting. Season two will follow him as he attempts to untangle himself from the world of contract killing and fully immerse himself in acting. But while Barry has eliminated many of the external factors that pushed him towards violence, he soon discovers they weren’t the only forces at play.

Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Anthony Carrigan, and Henry Winkler also star.

The HBO series won three Emmys for its first season, with Hader and Winkler each taking home awards for their roles in 2018. The show also won the award for sound mixing.
