The famous studio shared that their latest movie, the live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, has crossed the milestone of $1 billion at the global box office. This makes the film the highest-grossing worldwide in 2017 and the highest-grossing musical in history.

14 of Disney’s 29 movies have earned $1 billion or more so far. The list includes Finding Dory, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Zootopia, and others.

Beauty and the Beast‘s premiere was on March 17, not even a month ago. It’s nominated in four categories at the MTV Movie & TV Awards on May 7 (Movie of the Year, Best Actor in a Movie – Emma Watson, Best Kiss – Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, and Best Duo – Luke Evans and Josh Gad).
