Two years after denying that his massive back tattoo is real, Ben Affleck was photographed with his very real tattoo on display.
The Justice League star’s ink was on full display on the beach in Hawaii, were Affleck is filming his movie Triple Frontier.
The first glimpse of the tattoo dated back to July 2015 when the bottom portion of the tat was spotted. The colorful phoenix was first photographed in December of the same year, but then the actor said that is was “fake for a movie.” In February of the following year, Jennifer Garner, responded to rumors of a giant tattoo donning her estranged husband’s back saying to Vanity Fair, “You know what we would say in my hometown about that? ‘Bless his heart,” she joked. “A phoenix rising from the ashes. Am I the ashes in this scenario?” The Phoenix saga didn’t end there. The 45-year-old actor admitted to having “a lot of tattoos” but he has them in places that can’t be seen since they’re “private.”
Finally, the mystery tale of the mystic creature was settled, proving that his ink is in fact permanent.
