Beyoncé and Jay-Z Set to Receive Honorary GLAAD Media Award

When Beyoncé and Jay-Z speak, the world listens – and they often use their voices to stand up for minority groups in our society. They’ve proven to be amazing LGBTQ allies, and their tireless work will be celebrated during this year’s GLAAD Media Award.

The Carters are set to receive the GLAAD Vanguard Award – special achievement presented to the powerful allies of LGBTQ community. GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said they decided to honor this duo because they’re passionate defenders of human rights.

“We could not be prouder to stand with them to send a message of love during the biggest LGBTQ event in the world and to honor their work to bend the arc of justice forward for LGBTQ people, people of color, and marginalized communities everywhere,” explained Ellis.

This year’s GLAAD Media Awards will take place on March 28 in Los Angeles. Pop icon Madonna and Will & Grace actor Sean Hayes are also set to receive honorary awards during the ceremony.
