Beyoncé has been giving us new music every now and then, but it’s been six years since she shared a new solo album with the world. She’s finally ready to make a comeback with Renaissance, and she gave us a taste of things to come with the lead single “Break My Soul”.

Queen B started teasing her new music by removing photos and bios from her social media platforms, before officially announcing her seventh studio album. It will be called Renaissance, and she previously referenced its title in a 2021 interview with Harper’s Bazaar.

“With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again. I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible,” said Beyoncé.

Renaissance is hitting the shelves on July 29, and Variety reported it will be a multi-part album with dance and country songs. Queen B gave us a taste of things to come with the lead single “Break My Soul”, which came out on June 21. Its release coincided with the 2022 summer solstice, which is only fitting because its catchy house-inspired beat makes it a strong candidate for the song of the summer.
