The vibrant video mixes clips from the film with beautiful shots in a series of dreamlike locations. Beyoncé can be seen wearing a series of colorful costumes while performing the show-stopping choreography with her dancers. The music video even features a cameo from her daughter Blue Ivy.
“Spirit” is the first single from the album The Lion King: The Gift, produced and curated by Beyoncé. She discussed both projects during ABC’s The Lion King: Can You Feel The Love Tonight primetime special, and explained how this spectacular video came to be.
“The concept of the video is to show how God is the painter, and natural beauty in nature needs no art direction. It’s the beauty of color, the beauty of melanin, the beauty of tradition,” said Beyoncé.
