“Billions” Renewed For Season 5

Showtime’s hit drama  drama has been renewed for an additional season in the midst of its fourth season. 

The cabler announced the pick-up early on Wednesday in a press release. 

Billions’ addictive examination of wealth and power is supremely entertaining, smart and surprising,” said Gary Levine, Co-President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc. “We’re loving season four and can’t wait to buckle up for the wild ride that Brian [Koppelman] and David [Levien] and their brilliant cast have in store for us in season five.”

The series stars Damian Lewis, Paul Giamatti, Maggie Siff, Asia Kate Dillon, Toby Leonard Moore, David Costabile, Condola Rashad, Kelly AuCoin, Jeffrey DeMunn, and Malin Akerman.

The series was created by Koppelman and Levien with Andrew Ross Sorkin. Koppelman and Levien also serve as co-showrunners and executive producers.

Billions is Showtime’s highest-rated and most-watched show. According to the cabler, it is averaging 4.2 million viewers per episode in multi-platform viewing.
